The Vanderbilt YMCA is seeking aHealthy Lifestyle Coordinator will support the Healthy Lifestyles department bydelivering consistent, high-quality healthy lifestyle programming and enhancingcustomer service and member retention. The Healthy Lifestyles Coordinator’sportfolio may include the following programs/areas: Fitness Center and Equipment Personal Training Group Exercise Fitness Center EssentialsY Fit Start Youth Sports, Arts, and Movement (YSAM) Programs
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with recruiting, scheduling, supervising, and evaluating program staff. Provide outstanding hospitality to all members and guests. Outstanding hospitality is acting as a proactive agent by initiating professional relationships with members regarding their needs, concerns, and questions, and accommodating those needs and concerns. Assist with the management of programs to maximize member satisfaction, revenue, and compliance with the YMCA standards. Provide members with opportunities that will increase their involvement, sense of belonging, and ownership of the YMCA.Assist in the development, control, and tracking of departmental budget in accordance with branch and Association guidelines. Research, facilitate, and build quality programs that provide member satisfaction. Set annual priority objectives-improve service based on annual staff and customer evaluation/feedback. Serve as a point of contact for all Healthy Lifestyles staff. Track and ensure that staff certifications are current and on file. Assist in scheduling, maintaining, and managing facility and equipment in partnership with the branch’s maintenance department. Execute administrative duties, i.e., tracking reports, schedules, equipment, supplies, and payroll. Maintain required certifications, which are tracked in Club Connect. Actively participate in training sessions and designated meetings. Have a thorough knowledge of branch emergency procedures and take appropriate action in emergency situations. Support community and promotional special events as needed. Serve as a branch Manager on Duty (MOD), as assigned.
Desired Skills & Experience:
High School Diploma required. Some college coursework is preferred. Current adult CPRand First Aid certifications. Knowledge of Orientationto Healthy Living at the Y and Principles of Member Health & Wellness. Foundationsof Listen First. Foundationsof Strength and Conditioning, and Group Exercise, if applicable. Applicableindustry certifications. Attend the YMCA hospitality training within ninety (90) days of hire. Ability to work with participants of varying experience and skill levels. Excellent customer service skills.
