Registered Respiratory Therapist

Mission Health in Asheville, NC is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist to provide high‑quality respiratory care across acute and chronic settings. The RRT will assess, treat, and monitor patients with cardiopulmonary disorders, administer oxygen and aerosol therapies, manage ventilators, perform arterial blood gas sampling and analysis, and respond to respiratory emergencies. The therapist will collaborate closely with physicians and nursing staff, educate patients and families, maintain accurate documentation, and support quality and safety initiatives in our collaborative, growth‑oriented healthcare environment. Assess and monitor patients with acute and chronic cardiopulmonary conditions Administer oxygen, aerosol therapies, bronchodilators, and related treatments Set up, manage, and troubleshoot invasive and noninvasive ventilators Perform and interpret arterial blood gas sampling and related diagnostics Respond to respiratory emergencies and provide code and rapid response support Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and the care team to develop care plans Educate patients and families on respiratory therapies and equipment use Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic medical record Follow infection prevention, safety, and quality standards Participate in performance improvement and professional development activities Ventilator management Arterial blood gas sampling and analysis Oxygen and aerosol therapy administration Noninvasive ventilation (BiPAP/CPAP) Airway management (including suctioning) Respiratory patient assessment Cardiopulmonary resuscitation support Electronic medical record documentation Patient and family education Infection control and safety protocols Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from NBRC Active North Carolina Respiratory Care Practitioner license or eligibility BLS (Basic Life Support) certification ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) preferred PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) preferred
