Fiber Optic Techs

Pay: $40.00/hour Plenty of Overtime AvailablePRT Staffing is seeking Fiber Optic Technician I candidates for a long-term telecommunications project in Santa Teresa, NM. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to build a career in fiber optics while earning competitive pay and working significant overtime hours.

Responsibilities: Install, pull, route, and secure fiber optic and low-voltage cable. Assist with fiber splicing, termination, and testing activities. Perform basic troubleshooting and testing using fiber optic equipment. Read and follow blueprints, schematics, and work orders. Maintain accurate documentation of completed work. Support senior technicians and project leads on installation projects. Follow all site safety requirements and company procedures. Load, unload, and organize tools, materials, and equipment.

Qualifications: High school diploma or GED required. Telecommunications, construction, electrical, or utility experience preferred. Experience using hand and power tools. Ability to learn fiber optic installation, testing, and splicing techniques. Strong work ethic and ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Valid driver's license preferred. Ability to pass all pre-employment screenings.

Physical Requirements: Lift up to 50 lbs regularly. Stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb ladders throughout the workday. Comfortable working outdoors and at heights when required. Ability to travel to project locations as needed.
