This role contributes to the successful execution of engineering programs by solving technical problems within their domain, supporting verification efforts, and collaborating cross-functionally to ensure high-quality, production-ready outcomes.The Engineer works closely with peers, mentors, and cross-functional teams to execute technical tasks, mitigate risks, and continuously improve engineering processes and product performance.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesDesign and test components and subsystems with increasing independenceDevelop new processes, components, or subsystem assemblies, or production toolingHelp establish and execute process, component, and subsystem verification plansLead problem solving efforts and support root cause investigationsCoordinate project planning activities within assigned scopeMaintain technical documentation and support engineering deliverablesDesigns and tests with increasing independenceDevelops new processes, components, subsystem assemblies, or production toolingHelps establish and execute process, component, and subsystem verification plansSolves hard problems within assigned technical domainIdentifies and mitigates technical risksLeads root cause analysis and problem-solving effortsInfluences component-level technology choicesProvides ongoing mentorship to junior or peer team membersLeads basic projects within disciplineCollaborates efficiently with other engineering teamsCoordinates project planning activitiesLeads routine technical meetingsManages simple vendor relationshipsOther duties as assigned.Required QualificationsBS or MS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering5 – 8 years' experience in mechanical system and component design for complex productsExperience in structural FEA, vibration analysis, and modal testing correlationExperience or understanding of heat transfer and thermal management in electromechanical systemsExperience in designing injection-molded plastic components for high-volume productionExperience with metals, plastics, fasteners, adhesives, and surface treatmentsExperience in SolidWorks, PDM, and PLM systemsUnderstanding of engineering principles, best practices, and design processesExperience supporting products from concept development to production releaseExperience supporting verification and testing activitiesStrong collaboration and communication skillsAbility to work effectively in cross-functional environmentsAdditional Desired QualificationsExperience participating in vendor or supplier interactionsPrevious experience with avionics or UAVsExperience with optics specification and integrationPhysical Requirements and Working ConditionsMust be able to walk, stand, and navigate large indoor and outdoor facilities for extended periods of time.Ability to lift, carry, and move materials and equipment weighing up to 25 lbs on a regular basis.Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required in designated areas or when performing specific tasks, in accordance with safety protocols and company policy.May be required to climb ladders, stoop, kneel, or crouch during inspections, maintenance walk-throughs, or emergency response exposure to facility operations including noise, dust, temperature fluctuations, and industrial equipment.Occasional off-hours or weekend work required for emergency facility responses or projects as neededRequires frequent use of a computer and other standard office equipment for documentation, communication, and coordination tasks.Background CheckThis position will require successfully completing a post-offer background check.
