This position builds positive relationships within the group and serves as the liaison with leaders. Activities include resolving employee issues, communicating corporate policies and procedures, Payroll administration, compensation-related activities, recruiting, providing training and educational programs; supporting management through the performance management processes, counseling with managers/supervisors on significant discipline and termination decisions for employees.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
May include, but are not limited to, the following: Counsel managers, supervisors and employees on various human resources activities to include policies and procedures, benefit plans, job-related concerns and issues, interpersonal relationships with peers and supervisors. Administers activities related to employment practices. Work closely with the Westlake recruiting team to recruit, screen, interview, and hire employees. Advises managers and supervisors with employee relations issues, complaints and terminations. Ensures progressive discipline policies are administered fairly and consistently. Responsible for payroll management and accurate recording and data entry of employee information in HRIS (Workday).Prepare employees for assignments by establishing and conducting orientation and training programs. Coordinate and support employee engagement activities, recognition programs, and site events that promote teamwork, inclusion, and positive employee experience. Coordinates and participates in human resources-related training. Oversee the administration of compensation, benefits, vacation, sick leave, and absence programs for employees. Participates in compensation surveys, job evaluations, promotions or adjustments in conjunction with Total Rewards. Responsible for administrative duties including invoice coding and processing, bulletin board maintenance, maintaining files and assisting with events. Any additional duties and tasks as required. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONSBachelor’s degree in Industrial Relations, Labor Relations, Human Resources, Business Administration or related field. SHRM or HRCI certified professional a plus.5 years progressive HR experience. 3+ years’ experience in a generalist/functional role with exposure to compensation, performance management, and training. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work at all levels within the organization Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize work Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Good oral and written communication skills Able to work independently and coordinate with colleagues in multiple locations Ability to maintain confidentiality, high level of attention to detail, and adaptability to changing business requirements Strong computer skills, MS Office products, Workday knowledge a plus Bilingual (Spanish) required. Must be able to speak, understand, read, and write in English and Spanish
