Job Summary: Responsible for all the operations of the community home under the general direction of the Program Supervisor. Directs the entire operations and programming of a six (6) bed community homeOversees the work performance of all direct care staffDevelop staff schedule and publishCollect, assimilate, approve, and submit all appropriate documentation for payroll processingComplete annual performance evaluationEnsure that all policies, rules, and regulations are followed and establish resolution including administration of discipline, corrections, and reinforcements as requiredConduct staff meetings and provide training when necessaryResponsible for the health and welfare of individual(s) servedSchedule all medical appointmentsAdvocate individual(s) served rights when appropriateSchedule individual(s) served activitiesEnsure fire and evacuation procedures are up to date and train accordinglyEnhance the quality of life for individual(s) servedParticipate in the selection, placement, and training of new staffManages all care and maintenance of buildings and grounds for the community homeSchedule and ensure vehicle maintenance is completedResponsible for the overall financial success of community home(s) Maintain finances within assigned budgetManage assigned petty cashProcess all invoices and submit to home office promptly and on timeKeep overtime to a minimumEnsure all house inventories (food, supplies, clothing) are complete and proper amounts are available as neededEnsure all efforts are made to maintain responsible utility, repair, and transportation expensesEnsure compliance with standards for annual surveyPrepare and submit all required documents in a timely manner (i.e., program notes, invoices/bills, state required documents, payroll, individual(s) served financial information) Oversee individual(s) served finances and ensure all policies and procedures are followed in the administration of suchMaintain relationship with the family of each individual(s) served and work to ensure best outcomeServe as a role model for both individual(s) served and staffFollow and enforce all policies and procedures of EvergreenAll other duties as assigned

Education: High school diploma or GED; college degree preferredCMA certification within two (2) years of being in Home Director position Three (3) years of direct support experience and some supervisory experience preferred Ability to communicate well both in written and oral forms Good organizational skills with an eye for detail Ability to meet deadlines in a high pressure environment Must be adaptable and have good decision-making skills Working knowledge of basic computer applications, with the aptitude to learn additional software and programs
Physical Requirements:
  • Constantly moves about to coordinate work
  • Routinely works in a fast-paced environment with multiple task deadlines
  • Regularly moves and positions objects weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Occasionally exposed to viruses and infectious conditions
  • Constantly alert and observant during working hours

Special Requirements: May be required to attend seminars or job-related training courses. Must have understanding, patience, and tact in dealing with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Must have the ability to maintain good working relationships with Evergreen staff and with contacts from other agencies or entities. Must be able to prioritize work tasks. Employment Variables Must have a good driving record that meets the minimum requirements for Evergreen and reliable transportation. Must pass a drug screen and criminal background check. Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays when required.
Working Environment: May be required to work in a variety of settings and environments, both indoors and outdoors.
