TITLE: Practical Nursing InstructorQUALIFICATIONS:Current Missouri license to practice professional nursingBachelor of Science in NursingTwo years professional nursing experience in clinical nursing practice, administration or nursing education. (2 years of experience must be within the last 5 years and experience must include an average of 20 hours per week.)Missouri vocational certification (must be obtained within 3 months of appointment) Teaching experience preferredActive in professional organizations preferredJOB DESCRIPTION:Responsible for instruction of practical nursing classes and curriculum development to meet the standards of Carthage Technical Center, DESE and the State Board of NursingProvide clinical supervision of studentsAssist coordinator in development, implementation and evaluation of program objectives, selection for texts, budget preparation, updating of brochures and handbooks and keeping track of equipment inventoryMaintain and update practical nursing library and resourcesMaintain, supply and provide oversight of lab areaBe accessible for student counseling, providing time, privacy and referrals as neededWork to promote desirable relationships with cooperating agencies and to promote positive community relationshipsServe as a member of the practical nursing advisory boardWork with coordinator to evaluate student progress and recommend necessary adjustment through out the programAssist coordinator in development, implementation and evaluation of the programParticipate in professional organizations and maintain requirements of Missouri teacher certificationMaintain records on student progress and attendance and other information as requiredDevelop and maintain up-to-date objectives, lesson plans and instructional materialsPerform such responsibilities as may be assigned by the Director or Assistant Director of the Technical Center, PN CoordinatorPosition Type: Full-TimeJob CategoriesCareer and Technical Education > Allied HealthOther Professional > Other Certified ProfessionalJob RequirementsCitizenship, residency or work visa requiredContact InformationGage Tiller, DirectorCarthage Technical Center - NorthPhone: 417-359-7026
