This position will manage the full billing cycle for assigned attorneys and clients and requires hands-on experience with 3E billing software.
Responsibilities: Manage the complete billing cycle, including pre-bill preparation, edits, invoice generation, and final bill processing. Review and process attorney time entries, costs, write-offs, transfers, and billing adjustments. Prepare complex client invoices in accordance with billing guidelines, engagement terms, and attorney requirements. Submit invoices through electronic billing platforms and monitor submissions for acceptance, rejection, and required corrections. Research and resolve billing discrepancies, rejected invoices, and client billing inquiries. Partner closely with attorneys, finance teams, and administrative staff to ensure accurate and timely billing. Maintain billing records and assist with reporting, reconciliations, and month-end billing activities. Manage a high-volume workload while maintaining accuracy and meeting strict billing deadlines.
Qualifications
Required: Hands-on experience with 3E billing software.3+ years of legal billing experience, ideally within a law firm or similar professional services environment. Strong understanding of the legal billing lifecycle, including pre-bills, electronic billing, adjustments, and invoice submission. Experience working with complex client billing guidelines and multiple attorney assignments. Strong Microsoft Excel skills and ability to work comfortably with billing reports and financial data. Excellent attention to detail, organization, and follow-through. Ability to communicate professionally with attorneys and internal stakeholders while managing competing deadlines.
Ideal Candidate: The ideal candidate has strong law firm billing experience and direct 3E experience, understands the complexities of attorney/client billing, and can independently manage a high-volume billing portfolio with accuracy and urgency.
