The Division of Cardiovascular Sciences, Section of General & Preventive Cardiology, is seeking an academic General Cardiologist for a full‑time faculty appointment at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor. Preference is given to candidates with expertise in cardiology oncology.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide inpatient and outpatient patient consultations at the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute, including non‑invasive cardiology call coverage, reading EKGs and stress tests, and participation in echocardiography readings for certified clinicians.
Diagnose and treat cardiovascular disorders, develop ongoing treatment plans, prescribe medication, and coordinate referrals.
Conduct early‑detection screenings and maintain accurate patient records and charts.
Teach didactic and clinical instruction to medical students, residents, fellows, and graduate students; mentor and advise learners.
Engage in academic research, service, and related administrative activities within the university and in collaboration with the Moffitt Cancer Center.
Represent the university, college, or department at meetings, conferences, and public events.
Minimum Qualifications:
Doctoral or medical degree from an accredited institution or the highest degree appropriate for the field, with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, academic research, and service. Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor. Must hold or be eligible for a full, unrestricted Florida Medical License (or a foreign equivalent).Must maintain credentials in the USF Health faculty practice plan and be a medical staff member in good standing at the assigned hospitals. Board certified or eligible in General Cardiology. For Associate or Full Professor appointments, a minimum of five years of continuing and productive service as an Assistant Professor (or equivalent); for Full Professor appointments, a minimum of five years of ongoing and productive service as an Associate Professor (or equivalent).
Preferred Qualifications:
Teaching experience with students, residents, or fellows.
Experience in administrative organization or leadership of outpatient practices.
Clinical research or scholarship experience.
Level II certification in Echocardiography.
Expertise in adult non‑invasive assessment of heart disease, including surface and trans‑esophageal echocardiography, stress echo, and adult congenital heart disease.
Experience with exercise testing, ECG interpretation, and clinical duties in a coronary intensive care unit or comparable environment.
At least two years of experience in Non‑Invasive Cardiology.
