Network Design Engineer

Experience: 5+ years of Network Engineering experience with a strong focus on network design and architecture. Design and architect complex LAN environments within manufacturing facilities, including routing, VLANs, subnetting, and voice/video protocols. Strong experience with wired and wireless campus Ethernet technologies and designing robust, campus-scale network infrastructures. Solid understanding of network security, including firewalls, VPNs, security protocols, and secure LAN design. Provide Level 3 Incident and Problem Management support, diagnosing and resolving complex network issues while meeting service restoration and availability objectives. Experience with network monitoring, analysis, and troubleshooting tools to proactively and reactively identify and resolve performance and availability issues. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Transport, MAN/WAN, Structured Cabling, Project Management, and other technical stakeholders, within agile-focused sprint teams. Optimize network performance using load balancing, traffic shaping, Quality of Service (QoS), and network performance metrics. Create and maintain detailed network diagrams, configurations, design documentation, and technical specifications. Plan and execute network design projects within manufacturing environments, coordinating timelines, resources, dependencies, and stakeholders. Ability to review existing network configurations and translate them into new or updated network designs. Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders. Demonstrated commitment to staying current with evolving network technologies, industry standards, and best practices. CCNA certification or equivalent hands-on experience preferred. Knowledge of active and passive RFID technologies is preferred but not required.
