We are seeking an experienced Structural Engineer / QA/QC Technical Reviewerto support LAUSD’s Facilities Services Division.
Key Responsibilities:
Review structural plans and specifications for LAUSD construction projects.
PerformQA/QC, constructability, and peer reviewsduring design and construction.
Review structural designs for compliance with District standards, applicable building codes, and safety requirements.
Provide detailed technical comments and recommendations to architects, engineers, Design Managers, OARs, and Inspectors.
Review structural standards, specifications, product substitutions, and proposed deviations from District standards.
Support updates to LAUSD design guidelines, technical specifications, and structural standards.
Coordinate with architects, engineers, consultants, District personnel, and public agencies.
Minimum Qualifications:
10+ years of full-time professional experiencein structural engineering planning, design, and construction ofeducational facilities.
Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering or a related field. Additional qualifying experience may substitute for up to two years of the educational requirement.
Current California Professional Engineer (PE) license – required.
Strong knowledge of K-12 school construction, structural systems, building codes, and DSA requirements.
Experience performing QA/QC, constructability, and/or peer reviews.
Ability to prepare clear technical comments, reports, standards, and specifications.
California Structural Engineer (SE) license is highly preferred.
