Position Summary: As a Test Technician, you will be responsible for performing precise electrical testing and inspections on voltage regulators, control boxes, and accessories—both during the manufacturing process and upon completion. Your expertise will help verify that every unit meets stringent design specifications, technical standards, and customer requirements before shipment. This hands-on role requires attention to detail, technical proficiency, and adherence to safety protocols in a high-voltage testing environment.
Key Responsibilities: Conduct in-process and final electrical tests on voltage regulators, control boxes, circuits, and measuring devices following detailed procedures and safety standards. Verify winding polarity and resistance using polarity testers, micro-ohmmeters, and DC sources. Inspect tap changer assemblies, ensuring proper operation under no-load conditions and verifying insulation integrity through applied voltage (Hi-Pot) testing. Perform impedance tests, current imbalance assessments, and impulse distribution tests using appropriate equipment like oscilloscopes and impulse generators. Configure and verify control systems, including TVC, TBR1000, and Beckwith controls, for functional performance. Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and manufacturing drawings to facilitate accurate testing and troubleshooting. Hours: First shift: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED required. Prior experience with electrical testing, high-voltage equipment, or related technical roles preferred but not mandatory. Ability to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams. Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety standards.
