The Cottage Care Coordinator supports daily cottage operations, resident care coordination, and cottage care staffing under the direction of the Resident Care Director and/or Executive Director. This role helps maintain a safe, supportive, person-centered environment for our 23- resident Memory Care unit while reinforcing Allegro Living standards, resident rights, applicable state requirements, and quality care practices.
The Cottage Care Coordinator supports cottage care team members, coordinates resident service needs, assists with assessments and care documentation, monitors care follow-through, communicates with families and healthcare professionals, and promotes a positive experience for residents, families, team members, and visitors. The ideal candidate is organized, compassionate, dependable, service-oriented, and comfortable supporting a team in a senior living environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Support hiring, onboarding, training, supervision, scheduling, and ongoing coaching of cottage care staff.
Orient new cottage care staff, monitor progress, and reinforce training expectations.
Coordinate resident care needs in collaboration with the care team and community department heads.
Complete resident assessments and required documentation in accordance with Allegro Living policies and applicable state regulations.
Support compliance with applicable state regulations, residents’ rights requirements, safety practices, infection control, confidentiality, and HIPAA expectations.
Monitor medication administration practices, physician orders, and Medication Administration Records (MAR) to support accuracy, timely follow-through, and appropriate communication with licensed personnel or supervisors.
Communicate professionally with residents, families, physicians, healthcare professionals, team members, and visitors.
Create and coordinate person-centered activities and life skills programming that support the Cottage Care philosophy.
Participate as part of the community leadership team, including manager-on-duty coverage, staff meetings, community events, and marketing support as assigned.
Coordinate or conduct in-service training for cottage care staff as needed.
Maintain a professional appearance and support community standards that promote positive resident and family experiences.
Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications: Must be 18 years of age or older; state-specific guidelines may apply.
Experience or training in a senior living, healthcare, memory care, or equivalent setting preferred.
RN/LPN licensure or a bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
Medication Technician certification required if the candidate is not an LPN or RN, where applicable by state regulation and community requirements.
Prior supervisory or leadership experience in senior living, healthcare, memory care, or a similar service environment preferred.
Experience or aptitude working with Alzheimer’s disease and memory-impaired residents preferred.
Strong verbal and written communication, organization, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills.
Ability to work well with others and promote a team-oriented environment.
Must meet applicable background screening, health screening, tuberculosis screening, and drug-free workplace requirements.
Must have reliable transportation and, where required, a valid driver’s license, acceptable motor vehicle record, and insurability by the community’s automobile insurance carrier.
