Gen Systems Power Solutions is seeking a proven Vice President, Strategic Accounts - Data Center & Hyperscale Power Solutions to establish and lead strategic customer development across the West Coast data center and AI infrastructure market. This position is designed for an executive who has already operated at the Vice President level and understands how to develop large, complex customer relationships where power availability, utility capacity, time-to-power, generation resources, equipment lead times, infrastructure development, and commercial execution determine whether a data center project can proceed. Gen Systems provides scalable gas turbine and distributed power solutions for customers facing utility interconnection delays, grid constraints, accelerated construction schedules, temporary and bridge-power requirements, resiliency needs, and rapidly increasing electrical demand. Strategic Mandate The Vice President will: Establish Gen Systems' senior commercial presence across the West Coast data center market. Develop executive relationships with hyperscalers, AI infrastructure companies, colocation operators, data center developers, utilities, IPPs, EPC/EPCM organizations, and infrastructure partners. Originate large-scale power opportunities rather than simply manage inherited accounts. Position Gen Systems as a strategic power partner for customers facing time-to-power constraints. Develop multi-site and multi-campus strategic relationships. Build a qualified commercial pipeline and convert opportunities into booked business. Help establish the operating rhythm and future commercial organization in Santa Clara.
Key Responsibilities: Executive Account Leadership Own senior relationships within priority hyperscale, AI infrastructure, colocation, and data center development accounts. Develop relationships across energy, infrastructure, power procurement, engineering, real estate, site selection, construction, operations, finance, procurement, and executive leadership. Build multi-level account strategies rather than relying on individual customer contacts. Develop long-term account plans capable of generating repeat and multi-project business. Opportunity Origination Identify projects impacted by: Utility delays Grid-capacity constraints Turbine and generation equipment availability Accelerated energization requirements Construction schedules Temporary or bridge-power requirements Originate opportunities involving: Mobile gas turbine generation Aeroderivative gas turbines Behind-the-meter generation Bridge power Distributed generation MicrogridsBESSResiliency solutions Advance opportunities from initial customer need through technical qualification, commercial development, negotiation, and contract execution. Executive Commercial Development Lead senior customer meetings and strategic commercial discussions. Lead or support major proposals, pricing structures, commercial agreements, capacity commitments, and contract negotiations. Translate complex technical and infrastructure requirements into executable commercial opportunities. Develop customer strategies aligned with Gen Systems' equipment availability, delivery capability, economics, and margin expectations. Data Center Power Strategy Maintain working command of: Customer MW requirements Required energization dates Utility interconnection timing Transmission and distribution constraints Gas and fuel infrastructure Generation availabilityEPC schedules Site readiness Construction sequencing Equipment lead times Behind-the-meter alternatives The VP should be able to recognize when Gen Systems can materially improve a customer's speed-to-power. Market Development Develop relationships with utilities, IPPs, EPC/EPCM firms, natural gas providers, developers, engineering companies, equipment suppliers, landowners, financial partners, and other strategic stakeholders. Track data center and AI infrastructure development across California and the Western U.S.Provide leadership with market intelligence on customer expansions, power constraints, competitor activity, project schedules, and emerging opportunities. Pipeline and Revenue Ownership Build and maintain a qualified West Coast commercial pipeline. Establish disciplined CRM, forecasting, account planning, and executive opportunity reviews. Maintain clear ownership of opportunity stage, customer commitments, decision criteria, competition, technical requirements, economics, and next actions. Convert strategic relationships into measurable commercial opportunities and booked revenue. Internal Leadership Coordinate closely with engineering, applications, operations, project management, manufacturing, supply chain, finance, legal, and executive leadership. Ensure commercial commitments remain aligned with technical capability, execution capacity, economics, and project risk. Help establish the Santa Clara commercial operation. Support future hiring and development of the West Coast commercial organization as the business grows.
Required Qualifications: Hard Requirement Previous formal Vice President experience is required. Candidates must have previously held a Vice President title with meaningful commercial, strategic account, business development, market-development, or revenue responsibility.
Additional Requirements: 15+ years of progressive commercial, strategic account, business development, data center, power-generation, energy-infrastructure, or related experience. Direct executive-level experience with hyperscale, AI infrastructure, colocation, data center development, power-generation, utility, IPP, EPC/EPCM, or comparable physical-infrastructure customers. Demonstrated strategic account ownership. Proven ability to originate new opportunities, not simply manage inherited accounts. Experience developing and advancing large, complex, long-cycle commercial opportunities. Executive-level contract negotiation and customer presentation experience. Strong understanding of how power availability affects data center development. Experience coordinating commercial requirements with technical, engineering, project-development, procurement, construction, or operations organizations. Ability to operate independently while leveraging broader corporate resources. Ability to maintain an active presence in Santa Clara and travel throughout the Western U.S., Houston, and customer/project locations.
