Parts Counterperson

What You’ll Do: Work the parts counter for technicians and customers Look up parts using catalogs, parts books and online systems Identify the correct part by machine, model, serial number and application Take orders, enter them into the system and follow them through Source hard-to-find parts and work with vendors on availability Receive, check, unpack and put away incoming parts Pull and stage parts for customers, technicians and deliveries Check orders for accuracy before they go out the door Keep shelves, bins and inventory organized Handle the internal parts window for the shop Help with inventory counts and stock control Answer phones and help customers get what they need

What We’re Looking For: You don't need to be a mechanic, but you do need to understand parts and equipment. Parts counter, parts department or inventory experience Auto, truck, diesel, heavy equipment or industrial parts experience preferred Basic mechanical knowledge and the ability to identify common components Comfortable using electronic parts catalogs and vendor websites Basic computer skills and experience with inventory/order systems Able to juggle multiple parts requests without losing track of the details Good communication skills with customers, vendors and technicians Professional tool-room/parts-room attitude — organized, dependable and ready to help High school diploma/GED preferred Valid driver's license The Job This isn't a quiet parts counter where you're waiting around for someone to walk in. You're supporting a busy heavy equipment shop, so there will be times when a technician is standing at the window waiting on a seal kit, a customer needs a part tracked down, and a vendor is on the phone with an ETA — all at once. You need to be able to move, think and stay organized without sacrificing accuracy. If you've spent time behind a parts counter, you know that getting the right part the first time matters. That's what we're looking for. Schedule & Pay Monday–Friday. 7:30 AM–5:00 PM.Full-time. Overtime when needed$20–$30/hr based on experience
