Base pay range:$22.00/hr - $23.00/hr
Shift: Monday to Friday, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm (Includes a 30-minute break)
Position Overview: We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Patient Registrarto join our medical team for a 13-week contract assignment. This individual will serve as the first point of contact for patients, ensuring a smooth and efficient registration process while providing excellent customer service. This position requires fluency in Chinese/Mandarin and a strong background in clerical tasks, data entry, and healthcare administration.
Key Responsibilities: Greet and register patients upon arrival, ensuring accurate information is entered into the system. Verify patient insurance details and update demographic information as necessary. Manage and update patient records in the electronic health system. Answer phone calls promptly, providing helpful information to patients and scheduling appointments. Collect and process copays and other payments, ensuring accuracy. Provide support to patients with completing necessary forms and documents. Manage patient flow and ensure appointments are scheduled in a timely manner. Ensure compliance with all confidentiality and HIPAA regulations. Assist in preparing and organizing medical records for patient visits. Collaborate with medical and administrative teams to improve patient experience and clinic operations. Maintain a high level of professionalism and customer service during patient interactions. Assist with managing clinic-specific documentation and coding (ICD-9, CPT-4) as needed.
Required Qualifications
Education: High School Diploma or GED (Required), Some College (Preferred)
Experience: At least 1 year of clerical experience in a healthcare setting (Required) Data entry skills with a minimum of 4500 keystrokes per hour (Required)
Language: Fluency in Chinese/Mandarin (Required)
Technical Skills: Familiarity with medical terminology (Preferred), experience with medical office operations and heavy phone call volume (Preferred)
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication, customer service, and telephone etiquette skills (Required) Knowledge: Familiarity with medical coding (ICD-9, CPT-4) and health insurance benefits/requirements (Preferred)
