Key responsibilities:
Independently evaluate complex biological and regulatory issues for ESA Section 7 consultations
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior ESA Consultation Scientists, coordinating consultation activities and resolving complex issues
Conduct QA/QC reviews of consultation documents to ensure biological accuracy and legal sufficiencyRequired qualificationsMaster's degree or higher in Marine Science, Marine Biology, Biology, Oceanography, Marine Policy, or a related discipline
Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience with ESA Section 7 consultation requirements
Demonstrated ability to perform complex ESA Section 7 consultation work independently
Experience providing technical leadership and mentoring to less-senior scientific staff
Strong technical writing skills and knowledge of Southeast US species-related habitats
