This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys being involved in both the technical and commercial side of construction, supporting projects from the initial estimate through to execution.
What you'll be doing:
- Preparing quantity takeoffs and assisting with project estimates
- Reviewing drawings, specifications and bid documents
- Preparing and managing submittals
- Supporting project teams with documentation, procurement and coordination
- Working closely with Project Managers, Superintendents and senior leadership
- Assisting with pricing, bid packages and subcontractor/vendor coordination
- Getting involved in a variety of excavation, sitework and civil construction projects
What we're looking for:
- Experience as a Project Engineer, Estimator or similar construction role
- Strong experience with quantity takeoffs and construction estimating
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Earthwork, excavation, sitework or heavy civil experience is highly desirable, but not essential
- Candidates from other construction backgrounds with strong estimating experience will also be considered
- Organized, detail-oriented and comfortable working in a fast-paced contractor environment
This role will be primarily office-based in Stamford, CT, offering the opportunity to join a growing contractor and develop across both project engineering and estimating.
