Senior Manager, Accounting

Overview: We are seeking an experienced Senior Accounting Manager with 12–15 years of progressive accounting experience, including 7+ years in a leadership role, to join our Salt Lake City accounting team. Key Responsibilities: Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting. Develop, mentor, and coach members of the accounting team, fostering technical expertise and continuous improvement. Review complex accounting transactions and ensure compliance with company accounting policies and procedures. Partner with cross-functional departments to resolve accounting matters and improve business processes. Maintain and strengthen internal controls. Assist with external audits by responding to auditor inquiries and supporting documentation requests. Analyze financial results, investigate unusual variances, and provide meaningful insights to management. Develop and improve accounting processes to increase efficiency while maintaining strong controls. Participate in special projects, system implementations, acquisitions, and process improvement initiatives. Serve as a trusted technical accounting resource across the organization. Technical Skills Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities. Strong understanding of financial statement relationships and account reconciliations. Experience researching and applying accounting guidance. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools. Qualifications and Required Experience Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA designation preferred. 12 –15 years of progressive accounting experience, with 7+ years of leadership experience Proven ability to build strong partnerships with business leaders while providing accounting guidance. Experience managing month‑end close and general ledger accounting. Demonstrated success developing, mentoring, and leading accounting professionals. Proven ability to lead and develop teams, foster accountability, and support employee growth. Experience supporting external audits and working with independent auditors.
