Orthopedic Surgeon

SUMMARY: The physician will provide Orthopedic Surgery services for Alameda Health System, under employment from Alameda Health Medical Group. Services will be on-site at Highland Hospital, San Leandro Hospital and Alameda Hospital. DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSEvaluates, diagnoses and treats diseases and injuries to the musculoskeletal system. Orders and interprets musculoskeletal diagnostic imaging tests. Counsels patients in both non-operative and operative modalities to treat Orthopedic pathology. Performs patient evaluation and treatment in both the ambulatory and hospital setting. Supervises and participates in education of APPs, residents and medical trainees. Documents in the electronic medical record accurately and in a timely manner. Provides on-call coverage as agreed upon between the bargaining organizations. Maintains continuing medical education based on the requirements of the Orthopedic Board. Upholds the policies and procedures of the medical staff guidelines. Conducts themselves in a professional and respectful manner. Performs additional tasks as needed to facilitate patient care.
