THE OPPORTUNITY:
This role offers the chance to work on challenging, high-impact projects while growing your technical and leadership capabilities within a supportive engineering environment. You'll contribute to electrical system design from concept through construction, mentor emerging engineers, and collaborate with architects, mechanical engineers, and other design professionals on complex projects.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Design & EngineeringPrepare electrical and lighting plans, specifications, and technical reports for industrial, higher education, healthcare, and commercial projectsDesign electrical power distribution systems including medium-voltage distribution, generation, and protection systemsDevelop lighting system designs for diverse building types and applicationsPerform electrical modeling and analysis using SKM, ETAP, or similar softwareApply knowledge of electrical codes and standards (NEC, IEEE, NESC, IESNA, IECC) to all designsUtilize AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, and related design software for documentation and coordinationEnsure designs comply with local codes, standards, and construction practicesProject Leadership & CoordinationLead electrical engineering projects from concept through construction administrationCoordinate across multiple disciplines (architectural, mechanical, structural, civil) Work collaboratively on interdisciplinary design teamsManage project timelines, budgets, and deliverablesConduct site visits for project observation and field verificationInterface with local contractors, architects, and construction teamsBusiness Development & GrowthSupport business development and marketing initiatives as neededParticipate in proposal development and client presentationsBuild and maintain relationships with clients, contractors, and design partnersRepresent the firm at industry events and professional organizationsTeam Development & MentorshipMentor junior engineers and EIT staffContribute to knowledge sharing and technical training within the firmSupport firm-wide growth initiatives and practice developmentFoster collaborative, team-oriented cultureWHAT YOU BRING
RequiredBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field from an accredited universityMinimum 7 years of relevant electrical engineering consulting experienceEngineer-in-Training (EIT) certification (minimum requirement) Focus on power industry electrical engineering and designExperience with industrial, higher education, healthcare, and/or commercial projectsProficiency with electrical modeling software (SKM, ETAP, or similar platforms) Strong knowledge of electrical codes and standards (NEC, IEEE, NESC, IESNA, IECC) Strong knowledge of electrical and lighting system design for diverse building typesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work independently and collaboratively on interdisciplinary teamsLeadership capability for project coordination across multiple disciplinesWillingness to travel for occasional site visitsAbility to work in the office four (4) days per weekPreferredTexas Professional Engineer (PE) license in Electrical Engineering (strongly preferred)7-12 years of consulting engineering experienceExperience with medium-voltage distribution, generation, and protection systemsLighting design experienceKnowledge of local Austin/Texas codes and standardsEstablished relationships with local contractors, architects, and construction professionalsProficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, and related design softwareTrack record of successful project leadership and deliveryWHAT THEY OFFER
