American Traveler is hiring a Behavioral Health RN for an inpatient psychiatric facility requiring 1+ years inpatient psych experience and active MA RN licensure.
Requirements:
  • Active RN license valid in MA requiredBLS certification required (AHA)ACLS preferredHWC certification available on site
  • Minimum 1 year of inpatient psychiatric RN experience required
  • Must be willing to work with both adult and pediatric patients
  • Graduate of an accredited BSN, ADN, or nursing diploma program
  • Must be available to attend scheduled in-person orientation on specified dates
  • Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration
Responsibilities:
  • Inpatient behavioral health hospital with 104 beds across five units serving Adult, Child/Adolescent, and Geriatric populations
  • Units include BH IP Unit 1, BH IP Unit 2, BH Adolescent, and BH Geriatric
  • Patient ratios of 1:8 variable, with lower ratios for Geriatric and Pediatric units
  • Patient population spans ages 5-17 (12 beds), two adult units (24 beds each), and geriatric unit (24 beds)
  • Common diagnoses include schizophrenia, depression, bipolar disorder, substance use disorder, and anxiety
  • Uses Cerner EHR13-week assignment with a 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM shift schedule
  • Weekend work required every other weekend
  • Call requirements are as needed
  • Floating required
  • Blocked scheduling not available
  • Provide direct and indirect patient care through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation
  • Develop nursing care plans in coordination with patients, families, and interdisciplinary staff
  • Communicate changes in patient condition to physicians, nursing supervisors, and co-workers
  • Participate in discharge planning process
  • Blue scrub color required
  • Candidates must reside 60 miles or greater from the facility to be considered for the travel rate
  • Cannot have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months
  • Cannot be employed elsewhere full time while on assignment
  • Orientation occurs biweekly on Mondays or Tuesdays
