Manufacturing Technician – Filling & Formulation Full-Time | On-Site | Relocation Assistance Available Medix is partnered with a CDMO that partners with pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies to develop and manufacture medications, with a focus on sterile injectable drugs. Based in Nashville, the company supports drug development through clinical and commercial production, helping bring potential new therapies to patients.
Position Overview: We are seeking experienced Manufacturing Technicians to support our filling and formulation teams. This hands-on position involves preparing drug formulations, operating automated filling equipment, sterilizing production equipment, and inspecting and packaging finished products. Technicians work in controlled manufacturing environments and follow established procedures to ensure product quality, safety, and compliance.
Compensation & Schedule: Starting Pay at $28 / hour, not including shift differentials. Available schedules include:
  • Second shift: 3:00 PM–11:00 PMThird shift: 11:00 PM–7:00 AMWeekend shift: Thursday–Sunday, four 10-hour shifts
  • Initial training takes place on the first shift for approximately 60–90 days before transitioning to the assigned schedule.
  • The relocation bonus is paid with the employee’s second paycheck.
Responsibilities: Weigh, measure, dispense, and mix raw materials for aqueous and non-aqueous formulations according to approved batch records. Assist with setting up and operating automated filling lines for vials, IV bags, and syringes. Operate production equipment, including mixers, tanks, pumps, and equipment used for formulation, filling, sterilization, inspection, and packaging. Prepare, sanitize, and transfer materials and components into production areas using appropriate aseptic handling practices. Prepare equipment for production and load, operate, and unload autoclaves, terminal sterilizers, and HEPA transfer equipment. Perform routine cleaning and sanitization of manufacturing rooms, equipment, and work areas. Follow required aseptic practices in Grade B, C, and D cleanrooms and controlled non-classified areas. Inspect, label, and package finished products according to established procedures. Accurately complete GMP documentation, including batch records, protocols, and deviation records, following Good Documentation Practices. Identify and report equipment malfunctions, process deviations, and potential quality concerns. Assist with equipment troubleshooting under the guidance of the manufacturing team. Collaborate with Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Engineering, Validation, and Maintenance to support production. Complete required training and follow all safety procedures, gowning requirements, and PPE standards. Maintain a consistent presence on the manufacturing floor and support other production activities as needed.
Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree in a technical field or bachelor’s degree in biological sciences, chemistry, or engineering preferred. At least one year of experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing. Understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Documentation Practices (GDP).Mechanical aptitude and the ability to operate equipment and assist with troubleshooting. Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow SOPs, work instructions, and batch records. Basic computer skills and familiarity with technical documentation. Basic math skills for calculating and verifying weights, volumes, and measurements. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Reliable attendance and the ability to report on time for assigned shifts.
Physical & Work Environment Requirements: Stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach overhead, and climb as required during manufacturing activities. Lift and transport materials weighing up to 50 pounds. Work in cleanroom environments and wear full pharmaceutical gowning for extended periods.
