Structural Associates, Inc. (SAI) is a growing structural engineering firm seeking a Structural Engineer to join our Grand Rapids office. At SAI, our engineers work on an unusually diverse range of projects, including industrial and manufacturing facilities, commercial buildings, institutional projects, high-end residential structures, renovations, forensic investigations, structural assessments, temporary structures, shoring design, connection design, and expert consulting assignments. What You'll Do: Perform structural analysis and design for a wide variety of building and structural systems. Prepare calculations, drawings, specifications, and construction documents. Review shop drawings and respond to RFIs. Coordinate directly with architects, contractors, owners, and project team members. Participate in site visits, field observations, and structural assessments. Contribute to projects ranging from new construction and renovations to forensic and specialty structural assignments.
What We're Looking For: Licensed Professional Engineer (PE), or ability to obtain licensure promptly. Approximately 7+ years of structural engineering experience. Experience with common structural analysis and design software. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Desire to work on a broad range of project types rather than specializing in a single market sector. Self-motivated professional who enjoys solving problems and working as part of a team. Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
