Preconstruction Manager - Construction Estimating

Location: Kansas City, MO

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $100,000 to $150,000 per year Shape projects from the very first estimate, guiding budgets, bids, and constructability long before the first shovel hits the ground. Must-Haves Strong, proven background in preconstruction and construction estimating Experience with quantity take-offs, bid solicitation, and bid tabulation Experience preparing bids for Lump Sum, GMP, and Cost Plus contracts Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Project Strong interpersonal skills and ability to manage multiple priorities independently Valid driver's license and ability to visit active construction sites

What You'll Do: Lead the preconstruction and estimating process from conceptual estimates through final construction documents Perform quantity take-offs and assemble bids and proposals Write bid packages and subcontractor scopes of work Partner with architects and owners throughout preconstruction Support constructability reviews with designers, project teams, and subcontractors Build preliminary project schedules with the Superintendent and Project Manager Present budgets and bids to clients Support project buyout after final GMP approval Hand off projects smoothly to the Project Management team Help strengthen estimating policies, historical tracking, and procedures Build local relationships with clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors Nice-to-Haves Experience with Building Connected and Buzz Bid Procore experience Established network in the Kansas City construction market

Compensation and Benefits: $100,000 to $150,000 per year Professional development, including outside education and workshops
