Confidential Search: We're partnering with a growing healthcare organization seeking a senior actuarial leader to help shape and scale innovative value-based care programs. This is not a traditional actuarial role. The successful candidate will serve as a strategic business leader, using their actuarial expertise to influence program design, growth strategy, risk arrangements, and external health plan partnerships.
Key responsibilities:
  • Lead the design, pricing, risk assessment, and negotiation of value-based care programs
  • Develop financial models and strategies that demonstrate clinical and economic value
  • Partner closely with clinical, operational, finance, provider network, and growth leaders
  • Lead conversations and negotiations with health plans, including actuarial, sales, and business stakeholders
  • Evaluate program performance, utilization, cost trends, reserves, accruals, and financial risk
  • Build and lead the Medical Economics function
  • Translate complex actuarial analysis into actionable business and growth strategies
  • Help shape the organization's broader value-based care strategy and market expansion
Ideal background:
  • FSA and MAAA15+ years of progressive actuarial and managed care experience
  • Deep, hands-on experience designing and managing value-based care reimbursement and risk models
  • Strong executive presence and ability to operate as a strategic leader with actuarial expertise
  • Experience working across clinical, provider, operational, financial, and commercial teams
  • Exposure to musculoskeletal care, orthopedic bundles, CJR, BPCI Advanced, TEAM, or employer-focused MSK programs is highly valuable
  • Experience with digital health outcomes, causal inference, health economics, or advanced predictive analytics is a plus
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
