This full‑time position with the Department of Psychiatry provides skilled support for treatment studies. The role is responsible for recruitment, interviewing, and data collection both on and off campus, and for managing the relationships necessary to do so.
Scheduled Hours 40 hours per week
Responsibilities:
Participant recruitment including community outreach and prescreening.
Scheduling and coordinating study visits per protocol.
Administers and scores cognitive testing per study protocol.
Administers rating scales to research participants enrolled in the study per protocol.
Maintain appropriate recordkeeping and organization of many types of information and data, including data entry.
Build, negotiate and maintain professional relationships with a broad range of people including individuals with mental illness and older adults, medical professionals, and study personnel.
Manage relationships with participants and their families to promote recruitment and ensure adherence to study protocol.
Negotiate and problem‑solve difficulties that may arise; function as a key liaison in this role with support from the PI and study coordinator.
Engage in ongoing, proactive, and effective communication with multidisciplinary research staff regarding treatment fidelity, treatment contamination, recruitment and participation issues, and site issues; participate in weekly meetings.
Working Conditions:
Patient care setting.
Clinical office setting with some pressure created by study deadlines and patient schedules.
Requires local travel to participants’ homes or community facilities on occasion.
Typically sitting at desk or table.
Ability to travel to non‑WashU off‑site locations.
Office equipment.
Education Bachelor’s degree or combination of education and/or experience may substitute for minimum education.
Certifications / Professional Licenses Basic Life Support – American Heart Association; Basic Life Support – American Red Cross.
Skills Communication, detail‑oriented, interpersonal communication, ordering supplies, organizing, phlebotomy, physician communications, problem solving, recordkeeping, recruiting, schedule management, test administration, time management.
Driver's License Class E (MO) or Class D (IL) license required.
Qualifications:
Human Subject Research (1 year) required. No specific work experience is required for this position.

Salary Range$17.34 – $25.40 per hour.
