Medical Instrument Technician (Cardiovascular)

Job TitleDutiesSet up sterile field and prepare heparinized saline solutions. Obtain arterial and venous access. Maintain aseptic technique, manipulate wires and catheters, anticipate catheter tip location, operate fluoroscopic single-plane and bi-plane x-ray equipment. Review and/or record patient history and supporting clinical data prior to each of the procedures listed above. Apply noninvasive cardiovascular techniques of electrocardiography (exercise stress test and 12-lead ECG) and assist with synchronized cardio version and transcutaneous pacing. Attend to patient's safety and comfort needs before, during, and after procedure; position patient initially and as needed during the procedure to ensure patient comfort and optimal study results.
