To support a novel advanced reactor design project, the remote Applied Mechanical Engineer / Mechanical Design Engineer will provide mechanical engineering support, focusing on design, evaluation, and documentation of mechanical systems in compliance with relevant codes and standards while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.
Key responsibilities:
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team on the design of advanced reactor systems
Perform mechanical system design and evaluation, ensuring compliance with ASME B31 and other relevant standards
Document designs of electromechanical devices and oversee fabrication and assembly activitiesRequired qualificationsBachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field from an ABET-accredited program
Minimum of six to eight years of relevant experience in mechanical system design
Proficiency in ASME B31 series and ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code
Experience with high-temperature springs and safety-related nuclear structures
Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams on advanced reactor design activities
