Job Description
Job Purpose: In this highly visible, fast-paced, and challenging position, you'll collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to provide the very best care for our patients. The Trauma Registrar maintains a database unique to the trauma population. This can include identification, collection, coding, scoring, and entering of data into the trauma registry database as well as performing follow-up for the purposes of incidence, treatment, and outcomes, performance improvement, administrative planning and marketing, support programs, and research activities.
Job Requirements
Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent, Required
  • Licenses and/or Certifications:
  • Certified Specialist in Trauma Registry (CSTR) within one year of employment for experienced registrars and three years of employment for new registrars, Required
Certified Abbreviated Injury Scale Specialist (CAISS) Certification or Abbreviated Injury Scaling (AAAM) Course Completion, Preferred. For campuses going through American College of Surgeons verification, CAISS certification is required for a designated staff member to meet verification standards. The department will assign this responsibility based on qualifications.
