Job Overview:
A law firm seeks a Senior Attorney for its Employment Department in San Jose. The role requires a minimum of 5+ years of labor law and employment litigation experience. The position may be designated as Senior Attorney or Of Counsel, based on experience and background. The successful candidate will manage cases independently and provide comprehensive legal counsel on employment matters.
Duties:
Manage cases from inception to resolution with minimal oversight.
Conduct depositions and handle hearings as lead counsel.
Counsel clients on wage and hour laws and litigate related cases.
Handle class action, employment discrimination, and wrongful termination cases.
Respond to administrative charges and manage pre-litigation disputes.
Develop policies and conduct compliance training.
Requirements:
Minimum of 5+ years of relevant legal experience.
Experience in California state and federal courts.
Familiarity with FMLA, CFRA, ADA, FLSA, and California Labor Codes.
Ability to travel for depositions and court appearances.
Education Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
Certifications:
Active membership in the California State Bar.
Skills Strong communication, analytical, and writing skills.
Proven track record of strong performance and measurable results.
