Whoever deploys frontier compute fastest — at gigawatt scale — decides whether that future expands human freedom or narrows it. This is a confidential search on behalf of a company doing exactly that: acquiring power, designing and building data centers, and operating them, faster than anyone else in the market. Why join You'll be the on-site authority, not someone waiting on one — full ownership of critical infrastructure risk and change management for the site Work inside live, active build-out — the site's operating posture is being defined in real time, and your judgment shapes it Real technical ownership over power and cooling systems at a scale few sites in the country operate at Direct exposure to the build-out of the most capital-intensive infrastructure in tech right now Relocation handled end-to-end — you're not solving your own logistics problem on top of a new job Role scope Serve as on-site SME for critical infrastructure, handling escalations across white space and supporting facilities Understand site design limitations and risk; audit colocation partners and service providers on maintenance programs and effectiveness Own the change management process for high-risk maintenance activities Act as first responder on-site for incidents, driving resolution with support from engineering and infrastructure SMEsPartner with colo partners, vendors, and internal teams to keep the site reliable; feed operational learnings back into design and process Who we're looking for You've operated or led critical-facilities operations in a live data center, owning the physical infrastructure that keeps a site running You know the critical-infrastructure stack — power and cooling — well enough to be the on-site authority You run change management for high-risk work and hold vendors/partners to a real standard You're calm and capable when something fails at 3am — you're the first responder, not the one waiting for one You audit, document, and improve — leaving the site's operating posture stronger than you found it
Bonus:
hyperscale or colocation operations experience, Uptime Institute or NFPA familiarity, MOP/EOP experience, vendor and colo management What's required Willingness to relocate to Louisiana, Texas, New York, or Indiana — the company covers moving costs, housing search, and all logistics Comfort operating in a fast-moving, high-trust environment with real stakes attached to your output
