Industrial Coater / Sandblaster

Responsibilities: Prepare surfaces for coating by cleaning, grinding, sanding, blasting, and removing contaminants, rust, oil, and existing coatings. Apply industrial coatings including paint, epoxy, powder coating, primers, and protective finishes. Operate and maintain spray guns, pumps, compressors, blasting equipment, and other coating equipment. Mix coatings according to manufacturer specifications and required ratios. Monitor coating thickness, coverage, consistency, and overall finish quality. Inspect completed work to ensure it meets project specifications and quality standards. Perform touch-ups, repairs, and re-coating as necessary. Follow all safety procedures when handling paints, solvents, chemicals, and coating materials. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Properly use PPE, respirators, and other required safety equipment. Follow SDS requirements and proper procedures for handling and disposing of coating materials. Work closely with supervisors, quality-control personnel, and other trades to meet production and project deadlines.

Qualifications: Previous experience as an industrial painter, industrial coater, spray painter, or similar role. Experience with industrial coatings, epoxies, primers, paints, or powder coating. Ability to properly prepare surfaces and achieve consistent coating application. Familiarity with spray equipment and industrial coating tools. Ability to read and follow work instructions, specifications, and safety procedures. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to work in industrial environments and perform physically demanding tasks.

Preferred Experience: Abrasive blasting or sandblasting experience. Experience with plural-component or airless spray systems. Experience measuring coating thickness using wet- or dry-film gauges. Experience with SSPC/AMPP coating standards. Experience working around steel structures, industrial equipment, tanks, piping, or fabricated components.
