The selected candidate will work within a fast-paced environment, providing care to patients in various phases of recovery following anesthesia.
Position Details
Unit Type: PACU (Post Anesthesia Care Unit)
Shift Length: Varied 10 or 12 hour shifts
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
Experience Required:
- Minimum of 2 years
- Required CertificationsACLS (AHA)BLS (AHA)PALS (AHA)
- Unit Information
- Number of Beds: 13 Preoperative, 19 PACU, with 5 Phase 2 beds
- Nurse to Patient Ratios: 1:1 for pediatrics or unstable patients, 2:1 for other cases
- Common Cases: Orthopedics (Total joints and spine), OB/GYN, General, Urology, EndoscopyEMR: Epic
Floating Requirements:
Yes, between Preop and PACU Phases 1 and 2Scheduling and Call Requirements Shift Scheduling: Hybrid. Requests taken, but no guarantees on shifts or block scheduling.
Weeknight Call Requirements: Yes, from 1930-0730.
Weekend Call Requirements: Variable, approximately every 6th weekend.
Holiday Call Requirements:
As needed for Thanksgiving and Christmas (24 hours).Call Response Time: 30 minutes.
Orientation and Additional NotesThe selected clinicians are expected to remain in the state for the week of orientation, with the first day modules potentially being remote.
All staff will be provided hospital-specific scrubs, and the dress code requires wearing blue scrubs.
