Paralegal | Personal Injury Litigation

What You'll Do: Do you find purpose in helping people who have been wronged? Are you naturally good at communicating with people, understanding their needs, and finding solutions? Does seeing people get pushed around by the system motivate you to advocate for change? If so, you may be exactly who we're looking for. This is not a traditional Personal Injury paralegal position. You'll work directly with our Managing Attorney and play an important role in supporting both our clients and legal team. In addition to supporting a Personal Injury caseload, you'll also work on Property & Casualty matters, giving you exposure to multiple areas of our practice and the opportunity to develop a broader range of legal experience. Because of the nature of this role and the level of access you'll have to leadership and confidential information, we're looking for someone we can trust with sensitive information, complex client situations, and matters that require sound judgment. This position requires a high degree of discretion, professionalism, and confidentiality. You'll be part of a fast-moving team where ideas become action quickly. You'll have the opportunity to see how cases are managed from multiple perspectives, work closely with senior leadership, and take ownership of meaningful responsibilities. Manage and support a caseload of Personal Injury and Property & Casualty matters Send letters of representation and related correspondence Communicate with clients regarding case status and next steps Collect, organize, and maintain client documents and information Evaluate client needs and identify appropriate resources Connect clients with internal and external resources Advocate for clients and their needs internally Assist attorneys with pleadings, correspondence, discovery, and scheduling Draft and review legal documents and correspondence Manage and organize medical records and other case documentation Maintain accurate and timely case information in our case management system Work closely with the Managing Attorney on case-related and administrative matters Handle sensitive and confidential information with a high degree of discretion Identify opportunities to improve processes and help the team work more efficiently Help us achieve world domination What You Need At least 3 years of pre-litigation and litigation experience in Personal Injury; 5+ years preferred (Required) Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain a high level of discretion and confidentiality (Required) Experience working directly with attorneys and/or senior leadership Experience with Property & Casualty matters (Preferred) Experience with Filevine or another case management system (Preferred) Excellent verbal and written communication skills Experience drafting and reviewing legal documents Experience managing and organizing medical records Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to manage competing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment Ability to take initiative, anticipate needs, and work independently Proficiency with Microsoft Office (2+ years required) What You Get Health, dental, and vision insurance — 100% paid by the firm Generous PTO plan 401(k) plan with a 3% employer match Annual bonuses Opportunity to work directly with the Managing Attorney and senior leadership Exposure to both Personal Injury and Property & Casualty litigation Significant opportunity for professional growth and increased responsibility A fast-paced, collaborative work environment where your ideas can make an impact

Working Location: in-person at our Metairie, LA office with 2 work from home days per month

Salary: $65,000–$75,000 per year
