Job Description:
The Massry School of Business at the University at Albany, StateUniversity of New York, seeks candidates for a tenure-trackAssistant Professor of Accounting position. The position willcommence Fall 2027.
This position will be within the Department of Accounting & Law, which is responsible for undergraduate and graduate leveleducation in our AACSB-accredited accounting programs. Thedepartment has a long history of high-impact scholarship andinnovative educational programming. Our faculty are well-regardedscholars across a diverse set of research areas, including capitalmarkets, auditing, text analytics, and accounting pedagogy. We seekscholars with active and productive research agendas who displaypotential to publish in leading accounting journals.
The position is targeted toward candidates with research andteaching interests in one or more of the following areas: accounting information systems, financial accounting, corporategovernance, and forensic accounting. Candidates should be willingto teach courses at both the undergraduate and graduatelevels.
Key responsibilities of this position include: Conducting innovative research and publishing in high-qualitypeer-reviewed journals
Providing rigorous instruction in undergraduate and graduatecourses
Presenting scholarly research at academic conferences andmeetings
Contributing service to the department, the Massry School ofBusiness, the university, the local community, and the accountingprofession

The Massry School of Business at the University at Albany is adynamic, research-driven institution within a flagship publicresearch university. The Massry School houses cutting-edge research centersincluding the Center for Institutional Investment Management(CIIM), the Center for Advancement & Understanding of SocialEnterprises (CAUSE), and FACETS, a hub for analytics and systemssecurity research funded by agencies such as NSF, IARPA, and NIST.These centers can provide faculty with valuable infrastructure andaccess to industry and government partnerships.

Primary Responsibilities:
Research and professional scholarly activity (e.g., datacollection, data analysis, article writing, presentations atprofessional meetings).
Material preparation, class development, and instruction atundergraduate and graduate levels.

Job Requirements:

Requirements:
Applicants must have a doctoral degree (e.g., PhD) inaccounting or a closely-related field from a college or universityaccredited by the U.S. Department of Education or internationallyrecognized accrediting organization by 08/21/2027.
Applicants must demonstrate the potential for conductinghigh-quality research in the field of accounting, measured bypublications, working papers, conference and workshoppresentations, and/or their Ph.D. dissertation, requisite for anappointment as Assistant Professor in the field of accounting.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preferred candidates will have a record of research inaccounting, auditing, or closely-related fields demonstrated bypublications.
Preferred candidates will have experience teaching classes infinancial accounting, accounting information systems, corporategovernance, and/or forensic accounting.
Preferred candidates will have earned a Ph.D. and/or worked atschools with AACSB supplemental accounting accreditation.
