DSP - Residential--Kinston

Pay: Full time and Part time $17.60 Available positions: 1st Shift Part Time--7:00 am- 3:30--pm rotating days including every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday)--20 average hours per week. 2nd Shift Part Time--3:15 pm - 9:15 pm--rotating nights including every other weekend--17 average hours per week. Back-up/prn fill in positions available for all 3 shifts. $17.00 per hour. The Direct Support Professional (DSP) is responsible for a variety of duties related to providing support and care for individuals living in Skill Creations, Inc. facilities, who have needs in the area of physical /medical care, behavioral support, cognitive support and independent living. The Direct Support Professional provides care according to the specific needs of the individuals. This includes but is not limited assistance and education with personal care, medication administration and independent living skills. Direct Support Professionals also help to transport/accompany individuals to activities in the community and to local or out of town appointments. Position Requirements: High School diploma or GED from an accredited school is required. Criminal Record Check Prompt and regular attendance for assigned work schedule is expected. Includes working during inclement weather and some holidays. A valid driver's license and acceptable driving is required. Course work will be required for successful completion of CPR/First Aid and Behavior Management. Basic computer skills are needed for e-mail, electronic training modules and recording data. Persons must have the ability to lift 50 pounds and the work occasionally requires balancing, bending, stooping and kneeling. The position requires the employee to be on his or her feet most of the time.
