Senior Project Manager, Water

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager, Water to lead the successful delivery of complex water and wastewater infrastructure projects from inception through to completion. This role will involve managing project scope, programme, budget, quality, risk, and resources while ensuring that all work is delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with applicable standards, regulations, and contractual obligations. You will work closely with clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers, regulators, and internal stakeholders to establish clear objectives and maintain strong professional relationships throughout the project lifecycle. Key responsibilities will include developing project execution strategies, preparing and monitoring programmes and cost plans, coordinating design and construction activities, managing procurement and contract administration, and maintaining effective governance and reporting processes. You will identify and mitigate risks, resolve technical and commercial issues, oversee change control, and ensure that project documentation is accurate and up to date. The role will also involve leading multidisciplinary project teams, supporting business development activities, contributing to bids and proposals, and promoting a strong culture of collaboration, accountability, health and safety, environmental stewardship, and continuous improvement. Applicants should have significant experience managing water, wastewater, utilities, civil engineering, or related infrastructure projects, ideally within a consultancy, contractor, client, or regulated environment. A relevant degree or equivalent professional experience is required, together with strong knowledge of project management principles, construction processes, commercial controls, and health and safety requirements. Professional accreditation or membership of an appropriate industry body is desirable. You will be an organised and decisive leader with excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, capable of managing competing priorities and delivering results in a complex environment. Experience with industry-standard project controls, scheduling, cost management, and digital collaboration tools will be advantageous.
