Part Time Faculty - Communications

Responsibilities: Implement courses as designed by the University. Bring their own knowledge and expertise to bear on the subject matter. Engage regularly and substantively with students via email, announcements, and online discussion boards. Provide timely, high‑quality feedback on student work. Hold regular virtual office hours. Keep the department chair apprised of any student or course issues. Follow University policies. Complete University‑required training and attend required pre‑term meetings.

Qualifications: A master’s degree or PhD in Communications or a master’s degree in a related field with at least 18 graduate credits in communications. Experience teaching communications (including public speaking) in an asynchronous online environment. Experience with the Canvas learning management system preferred. A student‑centered teaching approach. A commitment to supporting the success of all students, including those underserved by traditional higher education. Compensation is provided at a rate of $1,000 per credit hour per course, with low‑enrollment courses paid at a directed study rate.
