Develop people. Deliver meaningful impact. Mackinnon Bruce International is partnering with a global medical device manufacturer to recruit an Engineering Manager for its Brimfield facility. This is an opportunity to combine engineering leadership, operational improvement and new product introduction within a regulated manufacturing environment.
The opportunity:
Reporting to the site Director of Operations, you will lead approximately 10–12 manufacturing engineers, ranging from early-career to senior-level professionals. Your focus will be on strengthening existing manufacturing processes, developing the team and preparing the site to support increasing new product activity 1.You will bring strategic direction while remaining closely connected to day-to-day operations, working across engineering, quality and manufacturing and engaging directly with customers.
Key responsibilities:
Lead, coach and develop the manufacturing engineering team through clear objectives, performance feedback and individual development plans. Improve the performance and reliability of existing manufacturing processes, supporting quality, delivery and productivity. Lead new product introduction, manufacturing transfers and cross-functional engineering projects. Plan and oversee process and test method validations, including IQ, OQ, PQ and PPQ.Drive Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma initiatives to reduce waste, improve process flow and control variation. Partner with customers on technical requirements, development projects and manufacturing challenges. Ensure engineering activities and documentation meet applicable quality and regulatory requirements.
What we’re looking for:
A bachelor’s degree in engineering or relevant equivalent experience. A strong manufacturing engineering background, ideally within metals processing or precision manufacturing. Experience in medical devices or another highly regulated manufacturing environment such as Aerospace & Defence, with FDA-regulated experience particularly valuable. Proven capability in NPI, project management and process validation. Strong Lean manufacturing, structured problem-solving and statistical analysis skills. Credible leadership experience, with the ability to develop people, build teamwork and deliver results. Confident communication skills and experience working with customers and cross-functional stakeholders.5+ years of leadership experience is preferred. Senior engineering professionals ready to step into management may also be considered where they can demonstrate meaningful team or project leadership. Direct hands-on CNC experience is an advantage, although not mandatory for someone with strong metals manufacturing knowledge and the ability to lead an experienced technical team. Lean Six Sigma certification Green belt or Black Belt would be an advantage*relocation assistance available on a case by case basis
