Join a High-Precision Aerospace Manufacturing TeamWe are actively seeking an experienced CNC Mill Setup Machinist / Operator to join our growing aerospace manufacturing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly skilled machinist who takes pride in producing complex, tight-tolerance components for the aerospace and defense industries. If you have extensive experience with 3, 4, and 5-axis CNC milling machines, can independently perform setups, and thrive in a fast-paced precision manufacturing environment, we want to hear from you.
Responsibilities:
  • Perform complete machine setups on CNC milling machines (3, 4, and 5-axis)
  • Read and interpret aerospace blueprints, engineering drawings, GD&T, and process sheets
  • Select and install tooling, fixtures, and work holding
  • Set work offsets and tool offsets
  • Verify first article parts and make necessary adjustments
  • Monitor machine performance and maintain dimensional accuracy throughout production runs
  • Inspect parts using precision measuring equipment including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, height gauges, and other inspection tools
  • Troubleshoot machining issues and make process improvements as needed
  • Maintain quality and documentation requirements in accordance with aerospace standards
  • Work closely with programmers, quality personnel, and manufacturing leadership to ensure on-time delivery and product conformity
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5+ years of CNC milling setup and operating experience
  • Aerospace manufacturing experience required
  • Strong experience with 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis CNC mills
  • Ability to independently perform complete machine setups from start to finish
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and GD&TExperience holding tight tolerances commonly found in aerospace components
  • Knowledge of machining aluminum, stainless steel, titanium, Inconel, tungsten and other aerospace materials
  • Strong understanding of tooling, feeds, speeds, and cutting strategies
  • Ability to use standard inspection equipment and verify part conformity
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Skills & Competencies:
  • Experience with Haas, Brother, Makino, Matsuura, DMG Mori, or similar CNC equipment
  • First Article Inspection (FAI) experience
  • Familiarity with AS9100 quality requirements
  • Ability to edit programs at the machine
  • Experience with high-mix, low-volume aerospace production environments
