PURPOSE ADVOCACY PROJ

Responsibilities: Contact and interview individuals who are victims of a crime and have a case pending. Provide information about the court process, punishment options, resources and referrals. Provide crisis counseling and court accompaniment. Conduct risk assessments and safety planning. Work with outside agencies to obtain information and coordinate services. Assist with crime victim’s compensation claims. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications: Education, Experience and Training: Education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. No experience required. Special Requirements/Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, and establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, departments, and the general public, while maintaining confidentiality. Physical/Environmental Requirements: Standard office environment. May require prolonged sitting, kneeling, standing, walking, twisting, climbing and the ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs., unassisted.
