Intellectual Property Scientist

Position Summary: The Intellectual Property (IP) Scientist will expand and manage Aeluma’s IP portfolio and oversee the technical IP workflow. This role will report to the Senior Director of Engineering and support Aeluma’s Engineering teams to generate and protect IP.

Responsibilities: Own technical content of all patent applications and responses to the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and foreign patent office actions. Curate Aeluma’s IP portfolio and drive expansion to meet commercial targets and objectives. Direct and manage outside agents and counsel on all IP-related matters. Engage internal teams for idea harvesting and facilitate internal disclosure processes.

Qualifications: M.S. or Ph. D. in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science or a related engineering or science discipline 5+ years of compound semiconductor photonics research or manufacturing experience 5+ years of patent writing experience Deep familiarity with semiconductor device design, manufacturing, packaging, and integration Expertise with claim structuring and patentability assessment Excellent technical writing and figure generating skills Send email to: hr@aeluma.com Visit: www.aeluma.com/careers
