Senior Tax Accountant

Key Responsibilities: Assist with general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end/year-end close activities. Gather, organize, and prepare financial records and supporting schedules for the external CPA firm in connection with tax filings. Coordinate the collection of tax-related documentation and ensure information is accurate, complete, and submitted in a timely manner. Support year-end audit projects by compiling financial information, preparing supporting documentation, and responding to auditor requests. Work with internal accounting staff and external partners to address questions, research discrepancies, and obtain outstanding information. Assist with maintaining organized financial records and supporting documentation for tax and audit requirements. Provide additional accounting support to the Assistant Controller as needed.

Qualifications: Approximately 5+ years of progressive accounting experience. Strong general ledger accounting experience, including reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting. Experience supporting external audits and/or tax preparation processes. Prior public accounting experience, particularly in tax, is highly desirable. Ability to gather, organize, and prepare financial information for external CPA firms and auditors. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems. Ability to work independently while collaborating with a small accounting team.

Ideal Candidate: The ideal candidate will have a strong general accounting foundation with experience supporting tax and audit engagements. Someone with approximately five years of accounting experience, including two years in public accounting with tax exposure, would be particularly attractive. This person should be comfortable working with external CPA firms, preparing supporting schedules, and helping keep year-end accounting projects on track.
