Role Overview: This position involves providing a safe, therapeutic environment for residents in a residential setting, supporting their journey toward independence. Responsibilities include monitoring residents, facilitating psychoeducational activities, conducting safety checks, administering medication observation, supervising meals, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring safety protocols are followed. The role requires effective communication, conflict management, and adherence to trauma-informed care principles.
Key Duties: Monitor residents to ensure safety and well-being
Support group activities and observe peer-led programs Provide transportation and conduct safety checks, searches, and toxicology screens Assist with meal preparation and facility cleanliness Respond to emergencies, conduct fire drills, and engage security systems Support medication monitoring and complete all documentation accurately Participate in shift handovers and incident reporting Uphold confidentiality, ethical standards, and compliance with regulations Qualifications & Skills High School Diploma or GED preferred Valid, clean NYS Driver's License Two years' experience in human services, crisis intervention, or related fields; knowledge of homeless client issues and conflict resolution is a plus Ability to perform light lifting, sit, stand, walk, and use hands for tasks Commitment to trauma-informed care, confidentiality, and regulatory standards
