Every unit reports through fully staffed PCMs. So this is a build-on, not a rebuild. This is a role for someone fluent in the operational realities of high-acuity nursing: throughput pressure between ICU and step-down, core measure compliance, nurse-sensitive indicator tracking, unit-based shared governance, and the day-to-day work of keeping five service lines survey-ready without losing sight of the bedside. You'll mentor PCMs through the conflicts that come with running multiple critical and procedural units, including staffing crunches, escalation pathways, and code and rapid response debriefs, while owning the fiscal and regulatory accountability that sits above the unit level. Reporting structure is a genuine plus here. There's a direct line to the AVP of Nursing, with a dotted line to the CNO on select items. That gives enough executive visibility to move initiatives forward without layers of sign-off slowing you down. Radiology currently sits under this seat as a procedural area, with the possibility of realigning to a separate DON down the line as the service line matures. What You'll OwnDirect oversight of PCMs across MICU, CCU, PCU, Tele-Stroke, LTAC/vent, and Radiology Regulatory and survey readiness across all five units, including Joint Commission and CMS Conditions of Participation Fiscal management for the service line, including labor productivity and capacity planning Mentorship and conflict resolution for unit-level nursing leadership Patient experience and nursing care standards across a mixed acuity, mixed-specialty portfolio What You'll BringMSN required Minimum 5 years in Critical Care Nursing leadership Fluency in high-acuity operational metrics, including throughput, nurse-sensitive indicators, and core measures Demonstrated fiscal and regulatory management at the service-line level A track record of developing PCMs and unit-based leaders, not just supervising them Compensation is competitive and will be shared during our conversation.
