Parachute Rigger Unpacks and stretches parachute canopy, suspension lines, risers, harnesses and packs. Manually cuts out damaged sections or panels and installs replacement. Packs and rigs various types and sizes of parachutes with the exception of personnel chutes. Inspection, modification, repair and packing is accomplished in accordance with general verbal instructions and shop practices. Ensures that completed articles meet requirements for correct dimensions and tolerances, and durability. Uses elongated, pie shaped, pear shaped, donut, large cylinder and half-moon deployment bags each of which requires different working details and procedures. Selects methods, materials and tools most appropriate for project.
