JOB DESCRIPTION:
Wise Staffing Group has immediate openings for Material Handlers / General Laborers in Decatur, AL.Our client is an industrial metal recycling and resource management facility seeking dependable team members to support its production and yard operations.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Material Handler is responsible for general labor, coil wrapping, banding operations, and maintaining smooth workflow across the yard and production areas. This position operates in a fast-paced, non-climate-controlled industrial environment and requires strict adherence to safety and attendance standards.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform general labor tasks across production, yard, and material handling operations. Execute coil wrapping for temporary and production assignments. Openness to operating forklifts upon completing client training as needed. Follow strict operating procedures and safety standards in an environment exposed to heat, dust, and outdoor weather. Meet established production, quality, and performance expectations. Maintain regular, reliable attendance and adhere to shift schedules. Be flexible to work changing schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays based on business needs. Perform other duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS: The candidate should have:
Required background in industrial or manufacturing settings. Preferred experience in material handling with mechanical aptitude. High commitment to attendance, structure, and accountability. Willingness and ability to work in extreme non-climate-controlled environments (heat, dust, outdoors).Reliable transportation to the facility in Decatur, AL.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Candidates must be able to:
Perform heavy, repetitive physical labor continuously throughout the shift. Comfortably work outdoors and in non-climate-controlled conditions. Work 12-hour shifts (5:30 AM – 5:45 PM standard schedule).Wear full required PPE all day without issue. Safely perform all essential physical functions required for industrial material handling.
