Law Firm Job Full Opportunity Brief Contextual Overview Wilkes Legal, LLC, a dynamic law firm located in Takoma Park, MD, is seeking a full-time, hybrid Bilingual (Spanish-English) Associate Immigration Attorney to handle a diverse caseload covering removal defense, family and humanitarian immigration matters, and federal litigation. Key Eligibility Criteria
Experience: Minimum of 1–3 years of experience in immigration law.
Licensure: Current license to practice law in Maryland or Washington, D.C. at the time of application (federal court admissions or eligibility are a plus). Language Proficiency: Fluent in both oral and written Spanish (French language skills are considered a plus).
Competencies: Compassion for clients from all walks of life including trauma survivors, and strong legal research and writing skills. Responsibilities & Scope of Work Represent clients before U.S. Immigration Courts, USCIS, and ICE. Represent clients before Federal District Courts in habeas, mandamus, FOIA, and related matters. Represent clients in Maryland and D.C. courts regarding Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS). Meet with clients to draft declarations, gather evidence, and prepare for hearings and interviews. Perform comprehensive legal research and draft pleadings, motions, memos, and briefs. Stipend, Compensation & Mode
Salary: $85,000 to $100,000 per year.
