Travel PTA - Home Health American Traveler is seeking a Home Health Physical Therapist Assistant with 2+ years of experience and BLS certification for a day shift home health position. Home Health setting with 5x8 day shift schedule from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.Average daily census of 650 patients with 6 visits per day. Patient diagnoses include heart failure, COPD, wounds, diabetes, post-surgical recovery, respiratory illness, sepsis, dementia, stroke, and myocardial infarction. Equipment issued includes a supply bag, vitals equipment, PPE, laptop, and cell phone. Epic charting system experience preferred. Candidates must be willing to float within the health system as operationally necessary. Current BLS certification required. Minimum 2 years of experience required. Washington state PT license required if applicable. Proof of Washington state license application required at time of professional references from the past 2 years required, with at least one from a supervisor. Skilled in assessment, adaptive devices, AROM/AAROM/PROM, body mechanics, vital sign monitoring, gait training, and patient/family with orthopedic, cardiopulmonary, and neurologic patient populations preferred. Experience with equipment such as gait belts, walkers, sliding boards, and supplemental oxygen delivery. Carry out physical therapy plans of care under direct supervision of a licensed physical therapist to restore function and prevent disability. Provide oversight to students, therapy aides, and volunteers as part of a collaborative patient care team. Candidates with an active license application in process may face a start date delay of up to 8 weeks while licensure is finalized. First-time travelers will be considered for this position. Previous employees of the health system must be separated for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler. Candidates must live outside a 60-mile radius of the facility to be eligible. Up to 7 RTO days may be approved prior to contract signing, with some holiday RTO possible depending on unit needs.
